HISTORY

The Brothers at Libertine

TheLaundryRoom is the collaborative thought and work of Two Brothers. The venture began while thrashing “The Chubby’s Ledge” on one of many late night skate sessions. The vacant space, vaulted ceilings, and killer ledge (not to mention the high doses of anything and everything highly-caffeinated) sparked the conversation of opening the raddest (most rad) skate shop in town.  The Boys started with a few posters to advertise in and around Clovis High  (All Four of the Pauline children frequented CHS at their convenience). As the posters began to fade their dream grew brighter everyday. While the action sports industry slowly became more influenced by high design, so did the Pauline Brothers. The business concept slowly shadowed this evolution in style. With their first project the brothers pioneered Antik Denim, Morphine Generation, and Butterfly Dropout to the Central Valley. They gained quick notoriety and were named one of the “Top 10 Denim Boutiques in California” in the Premiere issue of C-Magazine. Then in November 2006, Libertine was born! This men’s only concept boutique received quick looks from the heads of the fashion world.

The boys cultivated their selection with no reserve. They were first to bring namely designers to The Valley such as Tsubi and Christian Audigier.  Shortly after, Libertine realized that they would soon need to fulfill the highly requested demand for women’s clothing. Libertine closed it’s doors in September 2007 to commence the five month long creation of TheLaundryRoom. Once the walls were up in November the brothers took over to work their magic. With interior plans only in their heads, the two started framing shelves and counters, sketching merchandising plans to work ergonomically with the space, testing colors, picking colors, and picking colors again. The work didn’t stop. Day and night, night and day the two would build, paint, sand, weld, patch and paint some more. With frequent visits from friends and helping hands the work slowly started diminishing. On January 15th the doors opened! TheLaundryRoom cracked its doors and let the light shine in. Joey and Jonah Pauline now use TheLaundryRoom as their creative outlet in hopes of  influencing their hometown with style, culture, and creativity. As the Brothers welcome you into their space you will begin to realize that TheLaundryRoom is only the beginning of The Pauline Brother’s creative business journey. When you visit their space, you are not walking into a place of business. You are walking into a dream.
